Sleepless

So. Insomnia again. Woke at 1:30, gave up on sleep at 2:30, now reading LJ and trying to decide if I want to just dick around online, hoping I'll get tired again before 4:00 or give it up as a lost cause and start on some sewing projects.

Wild Man Vintage no longer sells (modern) handmade clothing, so I have some summer items that are up for grabs. A few dresses, a blouse, and three skirts. Oh, and a lightweight summer robe. They'll fit someone approximately 36-28-38. Any takers? Free to a good home! Nothing wrong with them, I'm just tired of wearing these particular items.

Update: 4:49 a.m. Never fell back asleep. Never even got tired enough, Welp, looks like I'm up for the day!

Update 2: 9:57 a.m. This may be the first and the last drum case I ever make. Sweet Christ this is difficult. And tedious. Does anyone want to go buy me some cigs? I don't have any clothes down here, [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick is still asleep (lucky bastard), and as far as my body is concerned, it's three o'clock in the afternoon. I want wine and a smoke, but I am not driving to the smoke shop in my pajamas.

Update 3: 11:33 a.m. Hey, I found my patch-shirt. Yay! Now I'm off to the fabric store to get a different zipper for the drum case. Will also pick up smokes. And maybe stop by the consignment store near my house.

I so wish I were your size. (Who doesn't?)
If you don't get takers, maybe they are possibilities for the new store?

I don't think I'd even offer at the new store. They've been washed and worn for two years (at least), and some have unfinished edges. Okay for a thrift/vintage store, but not so much for regular retail.

FOR REALS.

Ha!

Well, if it makes everyone feel better, I'm only about that size for about half an hour a day...and lately, not even that. =(

Nope. I can't schadenfreude where you are concerned.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-03-18 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Dang.

Oh dear. I'm LOL-ing with you, not at you, because I so know that weird feeling of having had a day that started in the middle of the night, and being ready for lunch or tea when others are still asleep. I hope the day goes better than the night.

"36-28-38"? Oh sob. That's almost exactly the size I USED to be--long, long ago when giants roamed the earth and before I'd given birth to four of them myself. ; )

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-03-17 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm almost done with the drum case--so things are going well so far! Gotta run to Hancock Fabrics to get a different zipper. The one I bought is way too long.

Goodness, with your height, those were some amazing statistics!

oh how I HATE insomnia. usually I actually AM tired, but I just can't sleep, and I end up feeling awful all day and having an eventual crash-a-roo.

I hope you survived the day. It sounds like you have plenty of energy.

It's 7:30 in the evening and I'm starting to wear down. Never took a nap, though, so I'm hoping I can get a good eight hours tonight!

sorry about the insomnia. I hope it doesn't throw you off the stuff you were planning on doing today.

Actually I got a lot done! =D

Made the drum case, all in one mad sewing session. Woo hoo!

I admire your perseverance, since it was apparently very tough. I got frustrated with my curtains and quit. fabric wouldn't cooperate and I didn't want to buy fabric when the point was to use up stuff that I had on hand.

hoo. WTF am I still doing awake?
