What old fuckery is this

There's a rumor that Tom Hiddleston is on Tumblr.

[livejournal.com profile] bluetourmaline spoke on her LJ about a company that makes lovely leather jackets--Danier. I'd not heard of them before, but Ms. Tourmaline has good taste, so I wandered over to their website. Holy Mary Mother of God. I found this one that is so gorgeous it made my toes curl. In a good way.

Making my toes curl in a bad way this morning are my cramps. They woke me up at 4:30 and I never fell back asleep, but was in too much pain to get out of bed. When I finally managed to crawl out from under the covers, I couldn't stand up straight. Still can't, even after a shower (and lying on the bathroom floor for about ten minutes making little whining noises). On the plus side, this is the first time I've had such debilitating cramps since last fall some time. That's the only jot in the plus column, though, let me tell you. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain and these cramps are knocking me the fuck down. If Kiva can't calm them down with needles this morning, I'm gonna have to take some drastic measures. And by drastic measures, I mean:

Earlier this week, while rinsing out my coffeepot and mug at the end of the workday, I broke the coffeepot. I picked the mug and the pot up with one hand, as one easily does when both items are light and come with handles--and as I've done dozens and dozens of time before. This time, though, they clinked together just right, and the coffeepot totally shattered. So...that's a really effective way to stop drinking coffee at work.

I'll leave you with a gif set that makes me smile THROUGH MY PAIN.

You would rock the HELL out of that jacket.

I'm sorry about the cramps, though...'tis my high tide as well, but this round at least seems to be tolerable. :\

We need to start up a PayPal campaign to get you a new coffeepot, f'realz.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
It's just as well I don't have a coffeepot at work. I need to get out of the habit of daily coffee, anyway, and go back to just-on-the-weekends. If things are really bad on a weekday morning, I can get a coffee downstairs at the cafeteria.

Sure wouldn't turn down donations for that jacket, though. =D

I am adicted to Danier and their leather sales. I can't go into the store without finding something I want... and they have multiple stores in my city. I am doomed.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
What's their sizing like? The size chart on the website is supremely unhelpful. No correlations between sizes and actual measurements (unless the French and Italian sizes are actually based on body measurements and not the size of the garment, allowing for ease).

Edit: Ah! Never mind. I just received a series of very helpful emails from their customer support. Looks like I'd take a size small. Which seems really strange to me because I am not really that small, but I see they go down to XXXS, so...

[identity profile] bluetourmaline.livejournal.com 2012-06-15 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep -- I run XXS and last I checked I had a 34C bust. Their vanity sizing is a leettle skewed.

That is an awesome jacket --- so awesome I haven't seen it in stores.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-16 12:11 pm (UTC)(link)
That's helpful information. I'm a 32D, so I definitely don't want to go for the medium! GOOD TO KNOW.

How do the arms fit? I got some honkin' arms, and my shoulders aren't so little, either.

[identity profile] bluetourmaline.livejournal.com 2012-06-16 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't speak, because I've got just about no biceps whatsoever. But it sounds like the people you could ask questions got back to you pretty quickly (one thing I've got to say for Danier, their service in their stores was always exemplary) so you could ask them about arm measurements. Leather does stretch. And Ms_danson might know.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-16 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Cool. Thanks!

[identity profile] philrancid.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry about the cramps and that you just got to discover that coffeepots can be surprisingly fragile.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Srsly fragile. WHO KNEW.

[identity profile] carmy-w.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoo! That is one HELL of a jacket! And I agree with hdsqurl, you would rock it!

I'd love to have one like it, but I'd have to go and find a corset to take about 10 inches of my waist first! LOL! But I'm working on that!

My sympathy on the cramps. I have heard that taking a calcium or calcium/magnesium supplement can cut down on them at night. Supposedly, if you are low in calcium, your bones attempt to steal it from your muscles as part of the regenerative sleep processes, and that's why you get cramps. True or not? I have no idea.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't take any vitamin or mineral supplements--they have too many problematic additives and stabilizers. I don't even take ibuprofen anymore, hence the Serious Problems with managing pain. I do, however, eat a lot of leafy greens, which provide more calcium in a useable form than supplements. In any case, I don't see how my calcium levels would have dropped so dramatically between now and the last cycle, which was pretty much a walk in the park.

I'm of the opinion that this is more fallout from The Great Cherry Incident.

[identity profile] carmy-w.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I knew you didn't take much in the way of meds, from your posts; I wasn't sure whether that stretched to vitamins or not. Frankly, I've never found any verification of calcium deficiencies causing cramps. I've heard of salt or electrolyte deficiencies doing it, but that's about it.

And you're probably right, re: the Great Cherry Incident, especially when combined with your monthly visitor....

P.S.
That jacket would look REALLY COOL if you could turn the cuffs back, like 18th century men's coats. =D

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh, yes!

[identity profile] miischelle.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
If you get that jacket I'm going to steal it.

You have been warned.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I would offer to arm wrestle you for it, but you have really long arms.

[identity profile] miischelle.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, but your biceps and triceps are in way more better shape than mine. We might be pretty even on that note.

Loki Dokey"

*thud*

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Loki Dokey cracks my shit up every time I look at it.

[identity profile] the-themiscyran.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
OMFG!!! that jacket. Serious lust right there.

Boo to cramps. I HATE the ones that make me whimper.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
*fistbump*

[identity profile] shanmonster.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh, that jacket looks awesome! I wonder if you can raise your arms in it, though. So many fitted clothes don't allow for reaching motions, and then I don't end up wearing them because of it.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I often have to get a size larger than I'd like because my arms are...pretty big.

They at least seem to have a good return policy.

[identity profile] msmitti.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
drool all over that jacket. love. it.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
A-yep. It's pretty spectacular.

[identity profile] sherwood21.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Jacket=LOVE. And possibly some screen-licking.

Cramps are lame. I get really bad ones once or twice a year no matter what I do, although dehydration, lack of sleep, and FREAKIN' STRESS can be contributing factors. Stupid uterus.

[identity profile] sherwood21.livejournal.com 2012-06-14 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh Stitch, I love you in all your mucus-y alien destructiveness. <3

[identity profile] belluthien.livejournal.com 2012-06-15 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Omgosh that Jacket! *WANT*
It's kinda like Ripley meets Julien... I wonder if you can turn the cuffs back---
Yeah! Rock it, baby!

Sorry about the cramps and the coffee pot...
