Once more unto the breach
Happy Birthday
mckitterick! Not that he'll see this until he has time to catch on LJ sometime next month.
I got home last night and cleaned the kitchen and then the bathroom. Then I exercised, and did my pushups. Did I mention I'm doing the 100 push-up challenge with
shanmonster? So I did those. Then I made dinner. Then I got drunk and dicked around on the internet and found all this shit. Enjoy.
Of the ten most popular tags on Tumblr, number three is Tom Hiddleston and number nine is Loki.
PREACH IT TOM

This is my new journal subtitle.
Obamacare explained in terms a five-year-old can understand. Thanks to
bart_calendar for this.
I liked the Harry Potter books and movies well enough, but I was never what I'd call a fan. This, however, needs to be shared because it is a hoot. Also, it was done by a former student of one of my former grad students, so, you know, two degrees of separation! Please be warned that you will, after watching this, have this horribly horrible song stuck in your head. So be sure to have some other music on hand to act as an ear-palate cleanser.
Just, you know, shoot me now. I need to get over this Hiddleston bullshit because for serious it's killing me slowly. SLOWLY AND DELICIOUSLY.
Last night, I was emailing back and forth until pretty late with a friend of a friend who is, I think, becoming an Internet Friend in her own right. We originally began corresponding about similar health issues and we drop a line to each other once in a while to check in. Last night, on my *mumble*mumbleth* drink, I responded to her current missive with "Okay, so I got home, cleaned the kitchen, exercised, made dinner, ate, and then got drunk. SO YOU ARE GETTING A DRUNK EMAIL. Congratulations." She was online at the same time, and I convinced her to grab a bottle of wine and join me. I shuttled between fanfic, Tumblr, and emails to her until nearly midnight. GOOD TIMES.
The fic I read is a really lovely Sherlock/John story, but I don't know who else around here reads JohnLock except for
pennswoods. Since she's the one who recc'd it, I don't see the point of posting the link, but if you're interested, let me know in a comment. It and Heidi kept me awake until 11:30.
Oh, and in case you're reading this, Ms. Heidi:

Let me add this, too: I hope I'm adopted.

Actually, his parents did tell him that, and he didn't discover different for years. How awful is that?

I am so glad that my parents didn't lie to me about either one. After all, it's not as if growing up doesn't involve enough experiences of disillusionment.

Lucky me, I never believed in Santa. Which should come as a surprise to nobody.

"I'm still not losing my shit, either!"
Is no longer true. *sigh*

*dies*
Also, I never believed in Santa either. Which caused some problems when I explained that to some of my peers, not understanding that they actually did believe it ...

And omg your icon. <3

So, uh. You can post that link if you wanna. I won't argue with your right to do so. Or something. :)

And I understand. I really do. But trust me. Once you jump in? The water is fucking awesome.
