Okay, how did I miss this?

I'm inspired to hit Lovegarden tonight so I can pick up the few remaining Zep albums I don't already own (I think I have five of the nine) and have my own Zeppethon this weekend.

I agree. The Foo Fighters fucking killed it. Kind of a pity they were first. I thought they deserved the standing ovation just as much as Lenny Kravitz

My god, I'm still teary 20 minutes after watching this. And I don't even have a fever. Damn, that is just brilliant music, and the tributers all did such fantastic reinterpretations of it. That huge arrangement for the finale... man. Symbolically, I love that they did that, suggesting that no one person can take the place of any of them, that the sound is greater than any one interpretation or single band can match.

I am TOTALLY up for a Zeppethon. We should consider getting one of the newer sets, because I bet the old CDs (at least mine) are ancient enough to not fully support 5.1 Dolby.

Led Zeppelin of a particular era is one of the few bands Shawn and I can agree on and actively like. (The others: The Police, 80's era XTC, and The Clash.) We mostly just put up with each other's musical tastes other than that.

Led Zeppelin, The Police, XTC, and The Clash are a pretty good group of things to agree on. mckitterick and I have a few overlaps, but we have pretty divergent tastes as well. My range of likes is significantly larger than his, though. As is my tolerance for volume.

Oh, and re: suit porn. My friend Penny (aka libertyinreason on tumblr) recently started a side tumblr of suit porn, so I sent her an ask pointing her to your tumblr. She was pretty happy.

Shawn sometimes dresses up, in an idiosyncratic way that I adoooooore. Like, he always wears shortened pants (knickers!) and they're usually nice wool slacks he's just had shortened. And he'll wear them with nice socks and sock garters (https://www.sockdreams.com/products/accessories/sock-garters/striped-suspender-clip-sock-garters:6000), which will just peek about of the bottom of the pants when he sits down. I love it.

(Heh. Not all our friends share my opinion on Shawn's style. Some of them do not find the visible sock garters attractive, and one said, "well....uh....I suppose it's good you like them." YES. THEY ARE PART OF WHY I STARTED DATING HIM.)

It's fun to have a noticeable style as long as you have the chutzpah to carry it off. I hate it when people's clothes wear them.

I'm glad Penny liked the collection! She friended me, so I hope she won't be terribly disappointed when my next collection is, like, Girls With Guns or Alien Versus Predator or something.

And completely off the subject, I've been watching "Wallander" on Netflix and one of the detectives with huge bushy hair looked familiar, so I finally did a slow check of the credits from a season 2 episode.
