Well, my sympathy for the snow day. I was very glad to stay home yesterday, since I slid off the road coming home Wednesday evening; hit a patch of slush, did a very nice 180 degree and then went sideways into the ditch. I was able to get turned around and back on the roadway with no problems. Clipped a marker post on my way, which left a bit of a hickey on the jeep, but no other trouble.
If I'd been in my G6, I'd never have made it out of the ditch, but on the other hand, I'm used to a front wheel drive, instead of a rear/4 wheel drive now, so it's entirely possible I wouldn't have spun out in the first place.
Anyway, it sounds like you had fun with your reverie! I could definitely stand to be in bed with those three; yes indeed!
I've had it happen to me before; it's actually pretty easy to get out of a snowy ditch. The grass gives added traction, and as long as you get momentum up, then slowly drive out/up onto the roadway at a shallow angle, it's fairly easy.
The fun part is when it's icy. I remember doing that on my way back to Dodge City from Hutch a few years ago; it took 3 or 4 tries to finally STAY on the damned road, it was so slick! I was about ready to either just drive in the ditch for a mile or two, or say heck with it and call 911!
