This is not a great week

And people wonder why I won't spend a fucking dime at Hobby Lobby. No, not even to make subversive art. Not even if there's something there I really really want. No.

I wouldn't wear the tee shirt, but I kind of love this tee shirt design. Talk about subversive.

Sunday's migraine is still affecting me. I'm exhausted, my belly is swollen this morning before eating (!), and I'm having problems focusing at close distances. Bright light is a little painful. UGH.

I am not going to make it to the gym this week. I'm pondering if I should cancel Sunday's session with Andrew, but will postpone that decision until Friday.

I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO STOP BEING SO DAMN FRAIL, PLEASE.

I would also very much like to stop having fucked up food cravings. I'm talking things like pizza, burgers with buns, chicken tikka masala, pie, doughnuts...etc. I'm craving them to the point that I would rather not eat because the food available to me simply does not appeal in the slightest.

Update: I made myself eat lunch at 2:15 and now I'm feeling really grossed out by it. Nauseated and unhappy. BLAH.

Love that shirt. In my previous job, we did a lot of "creative" work for the Army of Darkness. It put me in a place of inner conflict very frequently and I don't miss it even a tiny bit.

I can imagine. Yuck.

I haven't been able to support Hobby Lobby for several years and various related reasons.

You are not alone in the non-gym week. I haven't been able to bring myself to go, either. I am just so exhausted. And I woke up with a sore throat and blech head this morning. I'm demanding that it be just allergies but the meds haven't helped much yet. I will not get sick.

Sorry that you're still migraine hungover, though. Been there. NOT fun. I'd give you a dryer warm blanket and a beverage of choice in a room with low light and soft music if it will help.

That sounds wonderful.

Hope you feel better soon, too.

Ugh. Food cravings. Autumn brings them on HARD for me, I think it's the urge to nest and bulk up for the winter.

I admit I caved to mine.
Mostly because .. what the hell, I wasn't any worse off than I've been lately anyway. (It's been Cadbury's Bars and frozen taquitos, if you must know, lol, with loads of sour cream and guac. I'm headed for some magnesium supplementation, I think.)

I'm getting back on track today with a roasted cauliflower "Mac n Cheese" dish. Not perfect, but better, and very comfort foody.

Interesting. I wonder if I have a similar trigger.

I admit it's difficult not to be bitter about the fact that I don't have the option of caving to cravings. Well, unless I want to risk permanently damaging my guts.

Ugh I know. I'm sowwy.

Perhaps you are craving carbs in general?

Autumn was always my bigger food trigger for fats, salts and generally filling stuff.. and RenFest fare, which when it comes down to it, is CARBS. ARGGGGHH.

But sometimes this helps me, What You Crave, What You Need (http://www.gothextramileblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/crave-need.jpg).

You've mentioned that chart before and it doesn't work for me. The proper foods to "cure" my cravings are all things that I already eat. Crave bread and toast (which is what I'd say pizza, doughnuts, and burgers with buns qualify as)? Eat high protein stuff! Huh. Well, I already eat at least 3oz of protein (usually more) at each meal. So...yeah. The chart doesn't work for me. Pretty sure all my issues are psychological.

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2013-10-02 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
OH oops.. I'm sorry. Shitty memory me. I was hoping the "lack of appetite" section would be useful. Oh well.

Oh crap.. and sorry about the kitty being so damned BIG.. he wasn't that way on my Scrapbook. But, he's so damned adorable.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-10-02 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
He is pretty freakin' adorable.

I have been having powerful cravings for breakfast cereals. Quaker Oat Squares with cold rice milk, lumpy Malt-O-Meal with butter and maple syrup, hell, even cornmeal mush. *SMDH* Not gonna do it.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-10-03 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
God, cornmeal mush, fried in butter with maple syrup poured over...

*sigh*

I'm curious if the built up stress of the latest body troubles and faire and job stuff are ganging up on you. That would drive me to pizza and a beer or six, without even stopping to wonder about it. (And despite my *ability* to eat those things, the quantity wouldn't even faze me under your level of stress)

Not that I have any idea if it is related for you, it is mostly just solidarity stress eating.

I think it's very very likely, yes. Doesn't make it easier to deal with, though. This is one instance where knowing is not half the battle. =b

UGH HOBBY LOBBY.

Related: those Curves fitness places? The people who own them give tons of money to pro-life organizations. Bleh. It's their right to do so and I would never argue otherwise, but it's my right to let people know and never go there myself.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-10-02 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
G-R-O-S-S

Good to know.

[identity profile] msmitti.livejournal.com 2013-10-02 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
thanks for sharing that bit of info about curves.

[identity profile] nottygypsy.livejournal.com 2013-10-03 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
I joined once, and quit when I found that out. I just want to find a place I can swim, just swim and not cost me too much.

So sorry you're still not well. SO SORRY.

[identity profile] seascribe.livejournal.com 2013-10-03 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Man, I hope you feel better soon.

(and uh, fucking Hobby Lobby. Michaels all the way!)

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-10-03 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
GOD, ME TOO. I am so so SO ready to feel better.

[identity profile] alryssa.livejournal.com 2013-10-03 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
I wish the fucking CEO of Hobby Lobby would actually make good on his threat and shut down his stores already and stop being such a fucking anti-Semitic, homophobic asshole where we can see it.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-10-03 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
He'll never do it. He's the equivalent of a toddler threatening to hold his breath.

[identity profile] alryssa.livejournal.com 2013-10-03 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, really. uuuuugh.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-10-03 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. =(

[identity profile] zitronenhai.livejournal.com 2013-10-03 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't even remember the last time I stepped foot into a Hobby Lobby. I do know it's been years.
