Put some records on while I pour

Nailed it:

Met with Dr. Khosh on Monday. My thyroid numbers are getting better, so we're sticking with the current protocol which is the thyroid supplement pills in the morning and half a teaspoon of the thyroid cream rubbed on at night. We're having another female hormone panel run to see if anything is out of whack there that might explain the swelling (as well as my difficult periods and inability to lose fat around my abdomen). My last hormone panel was (I think) in the Spring of 2010, so it's been a while, and my numbers weren't great. So, vein stick tomorrow morning. Yay.

I have spent SO MUCH MONEY in the past 72 hours. The visit to Dr. Khosh, this month's supplements, a new henna order (I order in bulk since I color four heads), lace for more bloomers, xmas presents (buying and shipping), an extra-pricey trip to the grocery store (lots of stuff I use regularly on sale means STOCK UP TIME)... Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. I'm really glad my flexible spending account expired, so that's another $50 per paycheck. Fuck yes.

[livejournal.com profile] mckitterick sent this to me yesterday and we were both like "how have I not seen this yet on Tumbr????!?!?!?"

Check out these amazing paper heart patterns for making something like, oh, say...THIS. o_O

I should have mentioned that LG was absolutely wonderful on the Muppets' Christmas special!! If you find a replay of the whole thing, it's worth a watch.

Paper heart is so lovely.

Thyroid cream? Huh! Tell me about this.

This is the cream I'm using (http://www.pureformulas.com/thyroid-plus-cream-2-oz-by-dynamic-nutritional-associates-inc.html#sthash.mACBt3rY.dpbs). It smells kind of weird, but seems to work. Super emollient, too, so good for winter skin.

That's a nice bonus.

Yeah, that video. I'm currently working on (in lieu of actual paper-writing, heh) a post of how women are represented STILL in this day and age, and that ties right in.

Also, paper hearts. So amaze.

Happy to provide for you another example of Our Shitty Society.

's okay. Also, genius me just NOW clicked on the very last link, after the paper hearts link. Sherlock! meep!

YAY FOR MORE SHERLOCK LOVE ON MY LJ!

OMG let me tell you about the time I went on London Review and cried in front of St. Bart's like a 14-year-old girl and walked into lightpoles every time I saw an impeccably dressed ginger.

Also, THIS was happening the whole time (and yay! it's happening again very soon):

I've heard good things about Neverwhere, but I've never been able to get into radio plays, audiobooks, or podcasts or stuff like that. Sadness.

This was the first time I've heard the duet parts reversed. I liked it.

I do have to own I was distracted by the fact that her hair didn't move at all, even during the dip at the end.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-12-11 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
The movie where the song was used had it presented from both sides, too!

I've watched this clip over the years So. Many. Times. That is some genius physical comedy between Betty Garrat and Red Skelton.

I am so used to Gaga's crazy hair these days that I didn't even notice. I did love how she managed to get down the steps in that dress. WELL DONE, MA'AM.

I've never seen that movie, just heard the song on Christmas albums or the radio. It really is way better in video.

It was a *slim* dress, though she navigated the stairs so well I didn't even get nervous.

It was her management of the long, uneven train that had me impressed.

Yay for hormone panel. I've now added progesterone cream 10 days out of the month thanks to plummeting numbers. I am pretty much giant ball of estrogen dominance. HELLO PERIMENOPAUSE.

I thought of you last month because I had a period cramp. *A* cramp, mind you. But, I don't think I've had cramps with my period since highschool so I quite frequently take a unsympathetic disdainful high road in my head, about cramps. THAT WILL TEACH ME! It was like being stabbed in the gut. Hello again, perimenopause.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-12-11 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh. Excess estrogen is SO BAD. I hope the cream helps you.

I thought of you last month because I had a period cramp.

NGL, that made me snort.

I'm glad to hear your thyroid numbers are getting better! BTW, would you mind sending me a link to your store? I couldn't find it, and I'm curious about bloomers. :)

Oh, yes, thank you!

Mergh. Money. :( I mean, there are definitely good things, like stuff you need being on sale, and supplements and henna and things, but that out-go is still kinda painful sometimes.

Also, that advert and that duet are both so awesome it hurts. The paper hearts are so awesome that I exploded and died.

I hope the Brit had some glue handy to put you back together!!!
