Well this is certainly bummer news: AC/DC is calling it quits after 40 years. It's especially sad because it's due to the health of Malcolm Young. Very, very sad. Thanks, redheadfae for the heads-up on the news.

I took the gel manicure off last night. Not sure I'll be doing that again. Sure, it lasted for two weeks, but man it did a number on my nails. They're all peel-y and sad. I had to file off a lot of length to get rid of the peeling. Gonna take a couple weeks to just Nailtique the heck out of 'em before I start putting on color polish again.

Trainer Andrew is looking into starting his own gym, way on the west side of town. This would add about fifteen minutes (at least) to my time getting to and from workouts with him, and I'm not sure how many clients he's going to keep and if I would be one of them. *iz happy for him but bummed for me*

I had the same experience with that shellac, and yet they keep trying to tell me "it won't harm your nails." Fun to try for a vacation, but not something I'd do again either.

I enjoyed doing my nails in gunmetal for a while, but I was always unhappy with the way my nails felt after removing the polish. I think nails need to breathe, maybe?

I've kept some sort of polish on my nails for about...five years now? And they're healthier than they've ever been except for after the gel manicure. Different people's nailbeds react differently--I know some people HATE the way polish feels--but the nails themselves are just dead cells--I don't know that they need to breathe. At least mine don't!

I'm a huge fan of shellac. Similarmto gel in that it isnlongnwearing amd cured under uv, but easier to take off and way easier on my nails.

Interesting. The salon I went to only had the gel from CND. Do you know the brand of shellac that you use?
