No. Just...no.
The timing on this is exquisite. Yesterday, just yesterday, I hopped on amazon.com to look for an out-of-print book. Yes, it would have broken my No-Amazon-Shopping rule, but it was just one book, you know? And I can't exactly order it from a local bookstore since the last hardcover publication date was 1960-something.
Then, today, I read this and I directed my attention to abebooks.com. Anyone else got suggestions on websites for OOP books?
In News of Awesome, though, check out the new 1 is 2 Many sexual assault awareness campaign that's being led by Joe Biden. Please note, there is not one mention of girls dressing safe, protecting themselves, or putting the blame for an assault on the victim. This one lays it all at the feet of the perpetrators. From the video:
No means no. No means no if she’s drunk or sober. No means no if she’s on the dorm room or the street. No means no even if she said yes first and changed her mind. No means no no matter what.
Thank you, Mr. VP.
In personal news, I need a day off. This weekend marks the halfway point of KCRF and I haven't taken any time off yet, like I usually do. The jury selection thing on Monday took a lot out of me. More than I thought it would. I'm worn out. It's still a ways away, but I'm thinking October 11 looks like a great day not to be in the office.

Gods, I hear you on needing a break.
If all else fails for biz books links, there's also half.com (http://www.half.ebay.com/), where you can also make a wishlist to get notified if someone puts it up for sale.
ETA: re Amazon, when we order from the warehouse here, it comes from Coffeyville KS, BUT the used books, unless it says otherwise, come from independent retailers, such as Hastings in TX (whom I've had super luck with) and independent amazon sellers. I watch mostly for them.

Thanks for the half.com tip!

You're welcome :)
I figured I'd look him up on Project Vote Smart (http://www.votesmart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=53279), since you mentioned it.
I still like Bill Clinton, but I'm not happy about his and Hilary's ties to Monsanto.

I've been working KCRF off and on, in some capacity, since 1994 (eeeeeeek). I've bounced around a bit with what I do, but the past two years I've just performed (I'm a bellydancer) solely at the Royal Cigar Society Smoker. It's the daily bawdy show with raunchy jokes and booze. Best show out there, IMO.
I don't have many pics of me performing from this year, but yesterday's LJ post had a pic of me from opening weekend (this year), and my Flickr account has a bellydance section (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chernobylred/sets/72157607796191342/), about half of which were taken at KCRF, or in made-for-KCRF dance costumes.
If you want to check out more recent stuff, I'm doing another 365 portrait project (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chernobylred/sets/72157625845549807/), and the past three weekends have photos of me in make-up for the show, but you don't really get to see the costumes.

As for being a one-in-five...well, lots of us are, so at least we got a lot of company! Also, it was a loooooong time ago and I don't have a lot of emotion around it anymore. I guess I healed.

Too bad you're not local--I'd send a couple comp passes your way.

Thank you, I like it too. Sweet Dennis has posted some really good pics on FB. It might be a public page.
