From the flydayfyve. Name your top five cartoon characters, tell us what show they're from and why you picked them:

1. Yosemite Sam. Looney Tunes. The toons he stars in are consistently funny--I don't think there's a dud in the bunch. I almost pee myself everytime I watch Sahara Hare. "When I say whoa, I mean whoa!"

2. Probably a toss-up between Daffy Duck and Foghorn Leghorn. Looney Tunes. Pompous, arrongant, overbearing birds. What's not to love?

3. I feel I should move on from the Looney Tunes franchise, so I'll say Bullwinkle J. Moose. Why do nearly all modern cartoon makers choose to make toons that appeal to a single demographic? Rocky & Bullwinkle can appeal to any age group (note the "can" there--I've shown my videos to some people and received blank stares and a noticable chilliness towards me afterwards).

4. Although the question asks for a single character, I'm having problems picking out a single character from the Simpsons. Sorry. But dude, the show's been in production for over 10 years. It's funny.

5. For nostalgia's sake, I'll throw in Courage the Cowardly Dog. I loved this show in its first couple seasons, but after that the art changed to a much more heavily computerized animation style and the storylines went downhill. Sad. I don't watch it anymore but I still remember the early episodes with great fondness.
