Friday the 13th!!!
Aug. 13th, 2004 08:06 amA special call-out to a couple people today.
starstraf: Happy Birthday! A Friday the 13th birthday rocks.
secret_malady: Check out today's (8/13/04) For Better or For Worse comic strip. Look, it's us on the funny pages!
Last night my serger died. Yeah, that sucked. I don't know if the tension just needs fixed or what, but I'm just gonna forget about using it for faire stuff and finish my seams the hard way. I don't want to put the money in to get it fixed (it's hardly worth $50 at this point) and I don't have nearly the money to buy another one. So that sucks.

1. If your family was a television family, who would they be? Name family and/or television show. Ozzie and Harriet. We're mostly perfect, and the family on Leave it to Beaver was tres boring. We aren't quite up to the level of comedy that
slackmistress's family has attained, but at least we're not boring.
2. If you and your friends were a television show, what show would best describe i.e. personalities and/or day-to-day relations? I think a cross between Friends and Absolutely Fabulous. We're mostly nice people, but sometimes we get a little too drunk.
3. What television show would best represent your life? By title alone? Freaks and Geeks.
4. What theme song would run for a television about you? Maybe one used by a show already or something different. I'd have a different song for every episode. If the focus was on me (ahem), I'd have Broadway showtunes. But I think shows work better when it's an ensemble cast. So maybe figure who the focal character is in the episode and have a song that represents that person. That'd be cool.
5. Who would you have play yourself? Friends and family? We'd all play ourselves because we're a bunch of hams. Except maybe my mom. She's kind of introverted and most definitely not a ham. I'd see if Sophia Lauren was available to play my mom.
Last night I put the tassels on dance costume #2, got the casings done on the bloomers, and the skirt finished. When the serger died I just didn't have the heart to soldier on. Tonight, back to the grindstone. I hope to finish the bloomers (gotta get some lace for fluffiness) and the chemise. Oh, and I need 3/4" elastic. I need to write this down or I'll get home without the elastic and then there will be much teeth-gnashing.
Hope to see lots of friends at Jazzhaus tonight! Shake shake shake your booty!

UPDATE: Wow. Julia Child dead at 91. =(
