I went ahead and ordered those Capezio jazz dance boots last week. They arrived yesterday and oh oh oh they're the most beautiful comfortable things for dancing. They fit perfectly and the leather is butter soft. I can't wait to use them properly instead of just prancing about the house in them. However, when I was lacing them up, I got to about the fourth eyelet and realized I was cross-lacing them. Like a bodice. I undid it, started to re-lace, and had a sudden realization that I didn't remember how to lace shoes. I sat there for a moment, trying to figure it out, before I finally looked at my Double-H boots to see how it is done. Senior moment? Or just lack of practice? Either way: Funny.
For the past couple years I've been purchasing art from independent artists, especially people I know or at least have met in person. I try to limit it to stuff that will hang on a wall (or from the ceiling). Shelf space, while not at a minimum at our house, is rather at a premium. However, these amazing pieces, found on Coilhouse.net tempt me to break away from both those guidelines. Look at those things! Doubtful I could ever afford one, though, so our books don't have to worry about being preempted anytime soon.
Tons to do today, so I'd better get hopping.
