Wow it was cold walking up the hill this morning. Wind chill of -10? Insane.
Last night I finished the vest. Buttons sewn on and everything!
bestill was kind enough to reinforce the buttonholes with a couple rows of crochet. I haven't yet learned to crochet with sufficient skill. Tomorrow, weather permitting, I'll wear the vest to the office and have a co-worker photograph me. The only garment I have that matches it is my skinny pencil skirt, which does not allow for thick leggings underneath. Today, thick leggings underneath = vital.
Because I also finished the legwarmers (with the exception of buttons--buttons are on sale at Hancock's starting tomorrow), I've got nothing on the needles at the moment. I was hoping to start the Sophisticated Rustic Jacket next, but I realized this morning that I really wasn't feeling it yet. I'm so enraptured with the Fitted Knits book that I'm going to start on another vest--from a pattern in Fitted Knits. I'm doing the swatch today during my lunch hour. It's just too damn cold to go outside unless absolutely necessary.
I think I need to make a knitting tag, now.
Despite proclamations that yesterday was Made Of Lazy, I must have given myself a significant workout. This morning my quads and calves protested violently when asked to exert a minimum amount of effort--such as getting out of bed. I'm glad that Wednesdays are my weekday Stretch Day because wow did I need it.
Don't forget--tonight is a lunar eclipse. It's our last chance to see a full lunar eclipse for three years. Even I'm bundling up to watch it with
mckitterick. Grab your coats and cocoa and enjoy the sight.
