Monday quickie
Jun. 23rd, 2008 12:15 pmI'm up to my eyeballs, but briefly:
starstraf and Pooch are The Best Evar for finding me a hardbound copy of Nine Coaches Waiting. Finally! Yay! *happy dance*
Saturday was a Sneak Attack Gift for a Currently Anonymous recipient. I hope he likes his present. I have a ton of bruises on my legs from it. Weird. And painful. But worth it. I hope.
Sometimes I can stay out until 1:00 and do okay the next day. This weekend was not one of those times. Ugh. Sunday was lovely for the lazy but wow I felt like a crappy slug for most of it.
I am an official fan of the new OPI Designer Line. I have three of the colors (Shimmer, Vintage, and Ruby) and they're gorgeous. Expensive, but worth the occasional splurge for me. Even geeky boys noticed (and commented on) them this weekend. The polish looks like nothing else. 3D hologram fingernail polish, people!
For July, I'm aiming for a new health goal. I've been doing the wheat-free thing with great success for a month now. I've had only very rare transgressions (like using soy sauce at a restaurant since I refuse to cart around a bottle of my own wheat-free Tamari) and a few "oops, that had wheat in it?" episodes (Licorice--Who knew?), so I'm taking it further. Next month I'm going to cut out all carbs I don't cook. No more tortilla chips, no more rice cakes. I'll still make an occasional stir-fry or curry over rice noodles, but all easy-access carbs will be Off The Plate.
Tomorrow: Interesting content about a website I found. I'd hoped to write about it today, but Campbell Conference and Grad Student Orientation issues are nixing that.
