Day three, with a slight decline
May. 27th, 2010 09:26 amWhen the post-op literature said "Fluctuating vision to be expected for the next three weeks" I didn't think it really meant that. Silly me. My vision is worse today. The halos and fuzziness are more pronounced than yesterday. And for the first time since I can remember, I see better out of my right eye than my left. Since my left eye is my dominant eye, this is making everything very strange and is throwing me off balance. Which, as most of you know, isn't hard to do.
I hope it at least evens out by tomorrow. I guess I'll go back and read the list of post-operative effects a little more carefully. I think driving might be out of the question today. I'm glad I ran most of my errands yesterday, but I still need to purchase some flash tape for the costume. Crucial!
Speaking of which,
mckitterick gave it (the costume, not the flash tape) a thumbs-up when I tried it on sans makeup last night. It looks...okay. I hope adding the face will punch it up to where I want it to be. I don't know what else to add, and I can't afford to put any more money into it. It's not like I'm out to win a prize or anything. Not like there are any to be won. I just want to make it look as good as I can. There's no joy for me in wearing a half-assed costume.
Someone in the house was grousing about me making bacon yesterday afternoon because it would heat up the house during the already hottest part of the day. So I said I'd put it off until this morning. And now the bacon is done and someone is still sleeping. Guess who might be out of luck for bacon-eating by the time he wakes up.
