Okay, so I just reblogged this little piece of magnificence on Tumblr. Subtle spoilers for all the shows involved (Dr. Who, Sherlock, Supernatural), including the last show of second season Sherlock for those of you not lucky enough to have friends who give you bootleg copies from the UK. I would watch the fuck out of this movie.

Speaking of watching the fuck out of a movie, I'm trying to figure out when I'll have time to see The Avengers again before it leaves the theater. Yes, I liked it that much. And TBH? Shipping Stark/Banner a little more than Stark/Rogers right now.

I finished Watson at 10:40pm last night. That...was a little later than I'd intended. Yesterday just got devoured by other life stuff. I ran my errands as early as I could, but since stores don't open until 9:00 (at the earliest), I didn't get home until a tad after 11:00. And then it was a rush to fix lunch, change clothes, and get to the 12:20 Avengers showing. Once the movie was out, [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick and I ran to Penny's to get some new workout clothes. My old stuff is just not cutting it. I had to get some of those special fabric pants that pulls moisture away from your body. I sweat too much in the not air-conditioned CrossFit box to wear my usual stuff. When we got home, he took off for KC and I did food prep for the week: another jar of mayonnaise, made some chopped liver (I have to do that when he's out of the house because of all the onion cutting and cooking), and started a batch of kimchee (my first attempt--wish me luck). By then it was nearly 7:00pm and I had to get some dinner in me since I hadn't eaten hardly any lunch and no breakfast.

So...yeah. I didn't get started on Watson until after 8:00pm. I was extra super paranoid and cautious about putting in the buttonholes (because buttonholes are scary, you guys), and I still messed one up, so that took another twenty minutes to rip out and re-do. Fuck if I was going to bed without finishing, though. And that included making thread-shanks on the buttons, so the fabric won't bunch when the coat is buttoned up. But Watson is stage-ready. There are a few puckers in the "leather" shoulder pads that I think I could solve if I ripped it out and sewed in the sleeve by hand, but since I don't know that I'll have time for that, it'll have to do as is. Like I said, stage-ready--and that's all I'm concerned about at this stage.

Today: Copying and altering the vintage overcoat pattern that I bought for the Sherlock coat base pattern, and at the very least cutting the muslin. Oh, god, I need to figure out what fabric I've got enough of to use for the muslin. Please please please let me have something in my stash so I don't have to go back out to Hancock's.

Welp, guess it's time to get to it. Let me mention that first I have to clean the sewing room because somehow I always end up completely destroying it during a project. When I'm in the middle of it, I don't care that I have to step over piles of tissue paper and push stuff around on the cutting table to make room. But I can't start a new project in the middle of all that. Drives me batty. Therefore, first? We Clean.

Pitter-patter, let's get at 'er.
