Not great, but better
Feb. 20th, 2019 03:52 pmI am not actively hoping for death at the moment, so things are better. That's about the best I can say, though, so things definitely aren't great.
We got about four or five inches of snow last night and as the Burgomaster was taking me to work I reminisced about the glory days of when I would get up early to shovel our sidewalk and the elderly neighbors to the north of us (also occasionally the family across the street that I liked). Despite hating winter, I liked it because I was still warm from sleep, nobody else was out yet (it was usually still dark), and I could get a workout without going to the gym.
We did get two hours of inclement weather leave this morning so it wouldn't be quite so hazardous for people to get up to campus (KU is, believe it or not, on a fairly sizeable hill). I didn't have to be in until 10! That was nice. I spent the entire time in bed on my phone, occasionally checking the weather alert page hoping for a full closure but alas...
