I am... possibly feeling a little better today? I heavily drugged myself last night and managed to sleep nearly seven hours! It was fantastic and I feel Very Capable! I'm gonna attempt some writing and then I might clean the kitchen.
Any horror fans with US Netflix, I highly recommend Velvet Buzzsaw. Great cast, excellent cinematography, and just enough fantastical silliness to keep it from being pretentious. I was thoroughly impressed with Jake Gyllenhaal as a surprisingly sympathetic art critic (I know!). Stay far, far away from The Perfection, though. What started out as a queer thriller took a sharp left turn into rape and white saviorism (what a combo). I was so angry about wasting those 90 minutes it took two episodes of Schitt's Creek to calm me down.
Speaking of horror, when I don't feel like watching anything in the evening, I'm reading Clive Barker's Imajica to McK and y'all, Barker's language is just so... ❤❤❤ *sigh* SO GOOD. Eight Hundred and Twenty-Four Pages had better be pretty for me to read aloud, but oh oh oh talk about writing goals. This is my third read of this particular book (I don't re-read many books, especially ones that are 350k words long) and it's still gorgeous.
Writing-wise, I just realized I might've messed up a reference to canon in Deconstruction (yaaaay). Can someone please tell me in which episode this happens so I can rewatch it? I remembered it as Zhao Yunlan saying the "better not to live in this world" line but I think I might be wrong. I skipped through eps 34 and 35 and didn't find fit so I think it must be in one of the flashbacks but I don't know where. Help!
