There were some beautiful locally grown tomatoes at the grocery store this morning and although I couldn't smell them (bc masked), they were nicely heavy and just the tiniest bit squishy. Got them home and discovered they were perfect! Chopped up one with a large cucumber (also locally grown), some scallions, and a generous handful of cilantro (plus salt-pepper-oil). Then realized I had no protein to go with it. Figured there was nobody around to judge, so I halved a shoyu egg and maybe it was a mixed-culture abomination but it was also delicious.
