Laptop recommendations

Gonna have to buy a new laptop. Recommendations, pls? I don't have the internal resources to do my own research rn and I'm trying to minimize my phone use bc it's also dying. I use the laptop mostly for writing, web research, and video calls--no games, very little image editing.

Also if anyone's moved to donate to the cause, I won't complain. No way I'm trusting another refurbished model in an attempt to save money.
