It continues...and a cat

Posted something in a reply on a friend's journal, and thought I'd share it here. Here's my girl! Note the cute glimpses of my boy D in there, too. He's such a good guy. Last night he went through my Spanish flash cards with me while I rubbed his back. He's still pretty sick so I'm trying to be extra nice to him.

I'm a wee bit irritated (surprise!) at my co-workers today. I wanted to wait until Halloween to have the next food party. But noooooo, everyone else wanted to have one sooner. "Next week!" they screamed. "Friday!" they screamed.

So last night I spent $35 at the grocery store to get stuff for a honkin' big pan of spinach artichoke dip and the makings for a cake for the non-low-carb folks. Spent two hours last night cooking. Brought it all in this morning and what did everyone else bring? Doughnuts.

OK, Andrea brought artichoke dip, too. Sigh. But then, everyone's like "Oh come on, you can have *one* doughnut, you've been so good!" Yeah, 'cos I haven't been eating doughnuts, dumbasses! What the hell is wrong with these people?

Or is it just me? It's me, isn't it? Yeah, ok, I'll shut up now. Christ, I'm glad it's Friday. I think I'm about ready to go over the edge.

1. What housekeeping chore(s) do you hate doing the most?
Dishes (and I even have a dishwasher)

2. Are there any that you like or don't mind doing?
Cooking (I love it)

3. Do you have a routine throughout the week or just clean as it's needed?
Um, actually, I have a housecleaner to do the major stuff. I tidy things up before my cleaning appointment (about 1-2x/month). I know how aggravating it is to show up to clean a house and find crap all over the place. I do laundry on Sundays. Dishes as needed.

4. Do you have any odd cleaning/housekeeping quirks or rules?
When cooking, I try to clean as I go. Oh, and I like to clean the house before leaving for a trip. I got that from my mom, who refuses to come home to a messy house. It's a good habit.

5. What was the last thing you cleaned?
Last night, I cleaned up the mess I made making stuff for our stupid food party today. Except I think I forgot to rinse out the sink, which means the discarded flour has already hardened in there. Yuck.
