We're taking off tomorrow for the bright lights big city of Chicago. It's Fall Break here at KU and I desperately need to get away for a couple days. I've been in a pissy mood since, oh, Saturday night and I can't seem to shake it. Let's hope some fantastically illegal food and retail therapy can get my head back in place before the winter blues hit me.

How much attention do you pay to your weight? Do you know how much you weigh today? How often do you weigh yourself? Do you panic if your weight travels too far in the "wrong" direction?
Are you kidding? )

I love the News In Briefs at The Onion. Having worked with voice recognition software before, this one made me laugh out loud:

Voice Recognition Software Yelled At
NEW YORK—Fidelity Financial Services' Gwen Watson, 33, shouted angrily at her IBM ViaVoice Pro USB voice-recognition software, sources close to the human-resources administrator reported Monday. "No, not Gary Friedman! Barry Friedman, you stupid computer. BARRY!" Watson was heard to scream from her cubicle. "Jesus Christ, I could've typed it in a hundredth of the time." After another minute of yelling, Watson was further incensed upon looking at her screen, which read, "Barely Freedman you God ram plucking pizza ship."

Something else that made me laugh/cringe was the Personal of the Day. Stargazer4 says: "The five items I can't live without: "Subtext, vodka drinks, cinema, sun, philosophy."

Subtext? What the fuck? Christ, no wonder he can't get a date in person. My list would be Water, Food, Sleep, Shelter, and LiveJournal. But subtext? Jesus. What an idiot.
