Best news I've heard today

The Rhythm Busters have finalized their deal with Jackpot Saloon here on town to have some sort of early show (6 p.m. to 9 p.m.) every Saturday! The Rhythm Busters will begin the tradition Saturday, May 29. They'll alternate with other musicians, including locals Bill Crahan (guitar) and Scott Tichenor (mandolin) and guitarist Jim Stringer from Austin on June 12. Look for a more detailed calendar in this space soon!

UPDATE: OK, no nevermind, the best news I've heard today is my friend Greg just passed his PhD comps with honors! Woooo!

This is the last post for today, I promise. I thought I should do my part to let the locals know about this. I just got it in my work email:

"Due to necessary road repairs, effective Monday, May 24th, until June 11th, Naismith Drive between 15th Street and Irving Hill Road will be closed to through traffic and Naismith, south from Irving Hill to Sunnyside Avenue, will be detoured west to Burdick Drive during this time. Detour signage will be posted to direct traffic. Emergency traffic will not be restricted. Service vehicles will have access to Murphy from 15th Street."
