A few points and a crappy year in review
Dec. 8th, 2005 11:12 amAfter re-reading a lot of the comments to my post about Narnia, I think I've come to a conclusion about why Lewis's proselytizing bothers me so much. I feel he panders to his audience, using the fantasy and a child's wish to escape to emotionally manipulate kids into his belief system. I don't like that. I'm not attacking the people who do, and I would never say someone shouldn't like these books, ok? Like them all you want.
WinterSilks. The best. Thanks
adammaker and
rowangolightly for recommending them. I'm not exactly toasty, but I'm not freezing. A definite improvement.
From
themadblonde comes this advice (which I doctored just a tad for my own grammar and brevity issues): My worst obstacles are the ones I create.
I'm ready for
metaquotes to be funny and/or interesting again.
