No gold star for you

I do not get a Gold Star Secretary Award for yesterday. everflame and I had a wonderful conversation, but it resulted in us both losing substantial productivity. In a late-in-the-day email, I posited that we weren't arguing, we were just clarifying our stances. We then had this exchange:

Me: Neither of us like the term. You say usage of the term is inevitable in our current climate. I say that's dumb.

Her: It makes me a little sick realizing all that typing could have been boiled down to this perfectly accurate summation. I could have been doing actual work.

Brrr.

Today an F/O guy came to check the thermostat in my office. I was sure that they would just give me a shrug and a sorry, so I've put off calling in the fact that I'm constantly freezing my bunnies off in here. But apparently it wasn't all in my head.

My thermostat was off by four degrees. My office was sixty-six fucking degrees. That's Fahrenheit, people. He reset it so now it should be at 70 during the work day. I'm so glad I did this before they set the temps at 65 during the weeks of Xmas and New Year's. Can you imagine? *shiver*
