Ting a ling

Yesterday I found out that my favorite zill maker, Saroyan, has closed up shop and will no longer be manufacturing finger cymbals. Saroyans are kind of the gold standard for zills and I don't think I can adequately describe my emotions in a way that non-bellydancers would understand. Panic, sadness, anger...a whole bunch of things. I'm (selfishly) upset that I won't be able to buy them in the future. I'm also sad that new dancers, or dancers who haven't yet found their zill-love won't be able to purchase these gorgeous musical instruments. Zildjans were recommended to me on the LJ bellydance comm, but...I just can't imagine anything sounding better than my Saroyans. I mean, I've heard a lot of zill tones, and nothing sounds as good as Saroyans.

I just dropped $115 on three pairs from a vendor that had some left in stock. I'd have spent more if they'd had Saroyan Professionals (the ones I'm wearing in my icon there) in the silver version. I'll be carrying a balance on my credit card next month.

FB help

A friend of mine posted a lovely photo of me to my Facebook page. I can't figure out how to make it my cover photo and have it fit the space. If I make it my cover photo as is, too much of the photo is cropped out, including his watermark. Not cool.

I tried resizing the photo in Photoshop, no dice. It posts the exact same proportions, just blurrier. WTF. Any suggestions?
