I listened to her 14-hour gift of Twist of the Kaleidoscope over three days while my eyes were hurting and realized how listening to the words instead of reading them let my brain play out the images of what was happening and it was lovely! I don't plan to adopt podfic consumption as a regular alternative to reading because I'll never be able to listen while I'm doing literally anything else but I definitely get the idea better, now. (I envy the people who can clean or exercise or drive or whatever while they're listening to audiobooks and such)
I'm super duper nervous about name pronunciation though. Way more nervous than I am about reading porn. If there's anyone who'd be willing to coach me over the phone on how to correctly say the names of Guardian characters (or make a close enough attempt), please let me know. I know there are recorded guides out there, but I don't trust my own ear to recognize when I'm doing it right. This all hinges on if I can find someone to help me with that.
